Mike Suchmann is an experienced director, writer and photographer based in Long Island, New York. He was one of the founders and Head Director of Trash Head Productions, a video production company that had been making award-winning short films and music videos for over three years.
Over the course of his creative years, Mike has studied at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) in the Czech Republic, Harvard & Los Angeles based New York Film Academies, and New York's International Center of Photography. He has also received a B.F.A in film at the College of Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) at Syracuse University.
Mike went on to work for 305 Fitness as a Video Producer as well as The Museum of Ice Cream as their sole Video Content Creator where he produced, filmed and edited content for their Webby Award-winning social media platform.
Most recently, Mike served as Associate Post Producer for Malka Media, a branded content production company. Working alongside clients, he led teams of incredible editors across dozens of corporate videos, commercials and ad campaigns for companies such as Amazon, Loreál, Yahoo, ADP, and Morgan Stanley. Mike ensures that the best possible product is being delivered that aligns with the client's vision and brand aesthetic.
Concurrently to this, his work was featured in Forbes, Stereogum and Billboard.
Mike has attended numerous film festivals with various projects of his, including the 2018 and 2019 Cannes Film Festivals where his 35mm Czech short, “Ponožky,” (Socks) and his feminist comedy, “Plants,” were included in the Cannes Short Film Corner. Mike is also an active member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) as well as the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).
Whether shooting short films, music videos or fashion photoshoots, Mike's interest remains in the ability to invoke an emotional response from an audience. Through the documentation of heightened beauty or abject horror, Mike is fascinated in the extreme power of striking imagery and original characters.
